Google has dedicated a Google Doodle to the India writer, R K Narayan who is best known for Malgudi Days. Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Narayanswami was born on 10^th October, 1906 and he passed away on 13^th May, 2001. He is also known for the novel titled The Bachelor of Arts which was published in 1937 and was part of a trilogy.

The Google Doodle is pretty simple for a change with just the word ‘Google’ written in blue colour on an earthen background with just the second ‘O’ signified by the head of a cartoonified R K Narayan who is busy reading Malgudi Days and just the top of his balding head is visible over the book. The book has the title of Malgudi Days on the cover with the iconic village setting drawn under it. The back cover of the book has a black and white photograph of R K Narayan who is seen smiling.
