Heart Transplant in Delhi: In a miraculous step of saving the life of a patient in Delhi, a donor’s heart was successfully transported all the way from Chandigarh to Delhi, and that too, in less than 2 hours.

This victorious transportation was done for a patient suffering from a chronic heart disease in Delhi. He had previously been in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) twice for his illness.

The achievement was made possible with the efforts of both, the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) and the installation of several green corridors covering the two states.

The patient is a 39-year-old man from the city of Meerut. He was suffering from a chronic case of dilated cardiomyopathy with serious leakage of mitral valve.

How did he find the match?

This resulted in increased difficulty while breathing for the last four years.

He was shifted to Delhi’s private hospital in the beginning of August before which, he was kept under ICU twice in just last six months.

The patient required a heart transplant at the earliest. Unfortunately, he received a lead in Delhi but it wasn’t compatible for him.
