Television actors Jennifer Winget, Hina Khan, Karan Patel and Vikas Gupta received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for their contribution to the television. Actress Jennifer Winget won the Best Actress Drama award for her portrayal of antagonist Zoya in popular Sony TV’s show Beyhadh. Hina Khan won the Best Entertainer for Reality Show (Bigg Boss). Whereas, Karan Patel won Best Actor (Male) award for Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Not only the TV stars but Bollywood celebrities Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aaryan also bagged the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award. It was the fourth edition of Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards, held on April 21 at Andrews Auditorium in Mumbai.
This year, Bollywood celebrities like Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor received the award for Padmaavat. Anushka Sharma was honored for her role as a producer over the years with movies like Pari, NH 10, Phillauri. While Tamannaah Bhatia got for Baahubali series. Rajkumar Rao honored with Best Actor Award for Newton, which was India’s official entry to the Oscars last year. Kriti Sanon received the best actress award for Bareilly Ki Barfi and Rani Mukerji has got a mention for her role in Hichki. After a 100 crore blockbuster ‘Sonu Ke Tity Ki Sweety’, actor Kartik Aaryan was honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award for his outstanding performance in the film.
Late Vinod Khanna received the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema.
