Delhi, August 9 : The constantly dipping relationship between India and Pakistan reached a new low on Tuesday, with India issuing a strong demarche to the Pakistani envoy. The bitterness began with the capture of Bahadur Ali a Pakistani national who was recently apprehended in North Kashmir. He has since then confessed to belonging to the dreaded Pakistani militant organization, the Lashkar-e-Taiba. In late July Bahadur Ali along with several other infiltrators was caught as he attempted to cross the Line of Control at Tout Mar Gali. It was also discovered that he was in possession of several deadly weapons such as AK-47 rifles, grenades, live rounds, sophisticated equipments for communication etc, all of which were either Pakistani or international making.

Following a series of recent live captures of infiltrators, Bahadur Ali was also caught alive and handed over to the National Investigation Agency in Delhi for detailed enquiries. It is known that he was born in Zia Bagga village of Pakistan. His arrest resulted in Foreign Secretary, S. Jaishankar summoning and issuing a strong demarche to the Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit. India has remained constantly wary of the fact that Pakistan supports cross border terrorism and constantly tries to fuel unrest in Kashmir. Though Bahadur Ali has been granted Consular access as per international diplomatic norms, the statement that came from the Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson, were indeed punching. He said, “Foreign Secretary Jaishankar called in Pak HC Basit today, issued a strong demarche on continuing cross border terrorism from Pakistan. Demarche made specific reference to LeT terrorist and Pak national who was apprehended recently.” These events come soon after Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Pakistan for a SAARC home ministerial conference which was deemed to be equally inconclusive as far as Pakistan is concerned.
