Stranded Indian-origin American astronaut Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are receiving fresh water through recycling of their urine and sweat. The International Space Station recycled their urine and sweat into freshwater, the New York Post reported.
Both the NASA astronauts have been stranded for the last five months on the International Space Station.
According to reports, the astronauts have been consuming pizza, roast chicken and shrimp cocktail for their survival in space. But, the astronauts have very little fresh produce as a supplement for their consumption.
The health of both astronauts have become worrisome to which the doctors are monitoring closely. In a picture released by the Space Agency, Williams was looking skinny with sunken cheeks.
A specialist linked with the Starliner mission told the New York Post that the two astronauts are taken care of and they have been consuming different varieties of meal including roast chicken, pizza, shrimp cocktail and powder milk.
The specialist said there is nothing of any concern about the health of both the astronauts.
Sunita Williams also shrugged off his weight loss theory, stating that it is because of fluid shifting in her body due to the weightlessness of space.
