Irrfan Khan, whose new film Qarrib Qarrib Singlle released today, has already won over the digital audiences with his new video interview in collaboration with stand-up comedian Zakir Khan. The video, titled ‘ “Haq Se Qarib Qarib Singlle – featuring Irrfan Khan” released on 9th November, a day prior to the film’s release. It is already trending at number three on YouTube and has close to four lakh views!
The title of the video is inspired by the name of Irrfan’s new movie, Qarrib Qarrib Singlle, obviously. But it also refers to Zakir Khan’s most famous punchline ‘Haq se single’. The 15-minute long video interview shows Irrfan and Zakir have a heart-to-heart chat on almost everything related to relationships – from first love, first kiss and the first poetry to debating the importance of good looks. Irrfan also recalls the first time he fell in love as a 14-year old in Jaipur. The candid exchange between the two men will leave you in splits. The best part, they aren’t trying to be funny. It comes naturally to them, and that is what contributes to making this video viral.
In fact, this isn’t the first time that Irrfan Khan has collaborated with a comedian. In the past, Irrfan had joined hands with the comedy collective AIB and acted in their video titled “AIB : Every Bollywood Party Song feat. Irrfan Khan”. The video was a huge hit and received a big thumbs up from the audience for its satirical take on Bollywood party songs.
Irrfan Khan is one of the few actors in Bollywood who has struck a perfect balance between serious roles and comedy. The 50-year old has impressed the audiences with his brilliant performances in films like The Lunchbox, Madaari and Maqbool, as also light-hearted films like Thank You, Hindi Medium and Piku. His new film, Qarrib Qarrib Singlle, co-stars Parvathy and has released today. Qarrib Qarrib Singlle deals with new age romantic relationships and has been getting a positive feedback from audiences and critics.
