The censor boards are making news for their movie rating issues. Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani was given an A Certificate and the star was quite unhappy about it. A rating limits the reach of the movies to younger audience, and according to the makers Mardaani was meant to create awareness about child trafficking amongst the younger generation. Therefore it was pertinent for the teenagers to watch the film. And now, Deepika Padukone starrer Finding Fanny is also facing a similar issue with regards to the movie certification. The word ‘Virgin’ in the movie dialogues was enough for the borad to handout an A rating.
This is not the first time censor board has been slammed for its movie rating measures. Filmmakers usually have to bargain by doing away with some scenes or dialogues in order meet the requirements of the Censor Board. The board usually finds these stuffs too mature or bold for our audiences hence stress on getting them removed.
