Civilians in Syria are shaving off their beards, burning their burqas, smoking and  dancing on streets of Manbij, after they got freedom from ISIS. The celebrations at Syrian city of  Manbij were seen on Friday after the city got rid of militants, fighting them backed by US rebel groups.

Families ran on the streets, over the debris of buildings destroyed in the air strikes with their child and their belongings. Men in triumph had their beards cutt off while women got rid of their burqas and put them to fire. All this in an act of rebellion after spending years of their live under oppression of ISIS and their brutal Sharia laws.

Female fighters of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian Arab Coalition (SAC) united for warm hugs with civilians. Men overjoyed broke into tears, while a women was seen lighting up cigarette. an act which was prohibited under ISIS. (ALSO READ: ISIS frees hundreds of civilians in north Syria)

ISIS forced women to wear the burqa covering the entire body and leaving just the eyes, as part of its interpretation of Sharia law. ISIS had also made beards compulsory for men.

The Manbij city was at the top priority of the US-led coalition and the city can now help facilitate an upper hand on ISIS Syrian capital of Raqqa, which is at 80 miles from city of Manbij.
