Jeff Bezos, chief of Amazon and world’s richest man attended a board meeting on Wednesday wearing a night suit. Wondering why? Well, he had a very special reason for donning an attire that we usually wear at comfort in our homes. The reason is that the employees of Amazon were wearing pyjamas to work across the globe to raise awareness of childhood cancer.
Dressed in a dark blue night suit, Bezoz said that for the first time he had been most comfortable at the board meeting. He took to the Instagram to share his picture and it has already received approximately 70,000 likes and his post is flooding with various comments.
Sharing the post, he captioned it as, “Why am I wearing pyjamas to an Amazon board meeting? September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and each year Amazon partners with @ACCOrg to raise awareness of childhood cancer – second leading cause of death for kids in the U.S. between ages 4 and 14. Today, Amazonians across the globe show their support by wearing their pyjamas to work – also known as #PJammin. Another way we’re raising awareness is through our special #GoGold boxes – you may receive one during September. Never have I been more comfortable at an Amazon board meeting!”
Bezoz explains in his post that Amazonians across the globe show their support by wearing pyjamas at work and it is popularly known as PJammin. Another way to raise the awareness is their special #GoGold boxes that customers will receive during the month of September.
The PJammin event is hosted in the solidarity for the thousands of children who stay in their pyjamas for a month while they receive their medical treatment to cure cancer. Each event helps the company raise money to support American Childhood Cancer organisation.
