Just when we started to miss a similar presence in the Bigg Boss 10 show, we hear about the entrance of new wild card, German-Russian actress Elena Kazan who also bears an uncanny resemblance with Katrina Kaif. Elena Kazan who’s claim-to-fame is her cameo appearance in 2012 film Agent Vinod. Sharing screen presence with Bollywood biggies Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in Sriram Raghavan directed movie helped the Russian-born actress gain recognition in the industry. A look at her non-Indian roots, fair skinned tone with long dark locks and one would instantly think of B-town’s most successful import – Katrina Kaif. Elena when once asked a few years ago of her being the next Katrina Kaif had cheerfully replied “Hmmm. I’d love to be the first Elena.” Well, with her participation on Katrina’s ex Salman Khan-hosted show, she better prepare for such comparisons.
We all know Salman’s love for foreign beauties and doppelgangers of his ex-partners. Remember, Zareen Khan, the lookalike of Katrina; Sneha Ullal, the lookalike of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The actor is currently rumoured to be in an on and off relationship with Romanian beauty Lulia Vantur. If the rumour mills are to be believed, he is said to have found new love in British actress Amy Jackson. While one does not know the exact truth of his romantic life, the Bigg Boss audience is certainly sure of his soft spot for foreign female contestants on the show. The long list of favourites includes names like Claudia Ciesla, Elli Avram and Mandana Karimi. 26-year-old Elena would hope to continue this generous trend in her favour in Bigg Boss 10.
Salman and Katrina share a strong rapport despite an ugly breakup with the Sultan actor always being by his ex-lover’s side. Be it her nasty separation with actor Ranbir Kapoor (for who she had left Salman) or her movies’ dismal performance at the Box Office, Salman has always been there for her support. Salman who is hosting Bigg Boss show for the seventh time is often seen taking potshots at the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actor on the national television.
Coming back to Elena and her possible endeavours in the Bigg Boss 10 house among existing contestants and strong wild card co-entrants is not going to be an easy task. The other three participants coming through wild card are – previously evicted controversial ‘Indiawale’ Priyanka Jagga, actor Sahil Anand and international model Jason Shah. She must not solely depend on her potential rapport with Salman but also have clear strategies for dealing with tough nuts like Swami Omji Maharaj, Gaurav Kapoor, Bani J or Lopamudra Raut. It is a golden opportunity for her to become a household name and boost her filmy career.
