Cobra Dies After Biting Snake Catcher: A snake is one of the most dangerous and infamous reptiles in the world. Venomous snakes are notorious for killing any living being with a single bite. Among these serpents, the king cobra is one of the most venomous snakes. One or two drops of its venom can kill an adult human. But have you ever heard of a king cobra dying after biting someone? A weird and shocking incident has come to light from Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar, where a full-grown king cobra died after biting a snake catcher. The young snake-catcher was receiving treatment in the hospital after the serpent bit him, and now he has fully recovered. Cops at the Naryavalli police station learned about the incident and contacted the snake-catcher, and this is when the entire incident was revealed.

The Killer Bite

In the region of Bundelkhand, the locals often quote a saying, “Karia ko kato paani vee nai mangat.” It suggests that the venom of a black snake is so potent that the victim won’t even have the chance to ask for water before succumbing. This ominous saying implies almost certain death from such a deadly snake bite. Intriguingly, there have been whispers around town that the snake perishes after striking, which has sparked quite a few debates among the community members.

What Exactly Happened?

As per reports, when a cobra was spotted by people close to the barrier on the Sagar-Khurai road in Narayavali, they immediately informed the snake catcher named Chandrakumar Ahirwar.
Chandrakumar stated that the king cobra was spotted close to the city’s major road barrier on July 18. He rushed to the spot and grasp the snake. The 5-foot-long king cobra was captured by him. The furious serpent hissed twice and bit on both of Chandrakumar’s hand’s thumbs.
Chandrakumar had a scary encounter with a snake and had to receive medical attention at Bhagyodaya Hospital. Luckily, he made a full recovery and was able to go home. Later, there was a sad discovery that the same snake that bit him later died in captivity. The local folks said a snake-catcher had trapped the cobra, but hadn’t punched any holes for air in the plastic box he used. Consequently, the snake couldn’t breathe and ended up losing its life.
