Largest snake in the world: Whenever the largest snake in the world is mentioned, people think of pythons. But that’s not the case. The question arises, which is the longest, biggest snake in the world? Recently, this topic has been discussed quite a bit. But which of the two most talked-about snakes, the Anaconda and the Titanoboa, is longer? Before we answer this question, it should be noted that many people consider the Anaconda to be the largest and most dangerous snake in the world. Neither of these snakes is on the list of the longest snakes.

Anaconda

While pythons are in the fray for the competition for a snake’s length, anaconda species surpass many pythons. Among them, the green anaconda is considered the longest snake. These snakes are recognized as stealthy creatures that slither through the Amazon’s marshy lands and waterways. Their length can reach up to 9 to 10 meters (about 30 to 33 feet).

According to the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, the green anaconda is currently the heaviest snake species on Earth, with some of these snakes weighing up to 250 kilograms. There is no official record of the largest green anaconda, but in 2016, construction workers in Brazil found a snake that was 10 meters long.

Anaconda or Titanoboa?

On the other hand, the snake named Titanoboa is also quite famous. Whenever the longest snakes are mentioned, it always finds a pace. Titanoboa cerrejonensis once slithered through the humid forests and rivers of South America. Titanoboa is considered one of the largest known snakes to have ever existed. Although this snake is no longer present today as it went extinct about 60 million years ago. It measured 13 meters (about 42 feet) in length and hence, Titanoboa is the winner.
