A Las Vegas victim mass shooting victim who was shot in leg did not let his injury stop him from greeting United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Thomas Gunderson was attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday night when he heard the gunfires. He was injured in the leg after a bullet hit his leg. Gunderson from California said that he was running toward Mandalay Bay when he got hit in the leg. Stephen Paddock fired bullets at around 20,000 people attending the concert. While 59 people lost their lives many others were injured.
Entering Gunderson’s room, Trump said, “Hey, this guy looks tough to me,’ the president said as he shook Gunderson’s hand.” As Gunderson thanked the President for visiting him Trump patted his back. Gunderson’s patient board in the hospital room has the hashtag ‘#MAGA’ written under the statement, ‘What’s important to me.’ MAGA is the acronym for Make America Great Again which is Trump’s presidential campaign slogan.
Posting the video to his Facebook page, Gunderson wrote, “I will never lie down when the President of this great country comes to shake my hand! There may be plenty of issues in this country but I will always respect my country, my president, and my flag. Shot in the leg or not, I will stand to show my President the respect he deserves!”

Trump later tweeted a video of him meeting the victims of the shooting at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. He captioned the video with the caption, ‘We love you Las Vegas’ with the song God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood playing in the background. The video showed Trump and the first lady meeting patients and their families. Trump earlier on Wednesday had said that meeting Las Vegas doctors and the mass-shooting survivors have made him ‘proud to be an American’.
