Us Navy has introduced their latest laser action weapon which ready is ready to shoot-out in a combat. Pentagon officials recently announced on Wednesday, that this weapon is totally ready after three-months of test. Researchers have found that the heat, high winds and humidity did not bear any sought of problem during laser weapon system (LaWS) operation. LaWS looks like a harmless telescope but has 30 kilowatt beams of infra red light which is invisible through naked eyes. As it was deployed to aboard the afloat forward staging base (Interim) USS Ponce, apparently shows that this weapon can perform incredible amount of damage through the innovative technology.

Afloat Forward Staging Base (Interim) USS Ponce (ASB(I) 15) conducted an operational demonstration of the Office of Naval Research (ONR)-sponsored Laser Weapon System (LaWS) while deployed to the Arabian Gulf. This giant laser weapon can vary its intensity to dazzle, disable or destroy its enemy.

Here is the video, wherein you can see its explosives targeted on nearby boats which are burnt and slug right off the air. All this technology cost around $40 million – which is not that expensive when compared to its other alternatives or substitutes. This gigantic machine does not fire or launch any shots but just a single shot can cost about 59 cents to the military. Apart from that cost of a missile goes beyond millions of dollars.

US Navy has put its new technology LaWS through its pace in anti-boats and aircrafts over past few years. Researchers  expect US army and air force to start using this innovative technique as soon as possible. Further Rear Adm. Matthew L. Klunder, chief of naval research, said that the latest and powerful versions of laser weapon could possibly be ready for testing by 2016.
