She came in news recently when the Twiterrati went into a frenzy and wrongly stated that Lata didi had passed away. The demise of yesteryear actress Lata Nanda was wrongly quoted as Lata Mangeshkar’s demise.

On her 85th birthday Sep 28n 2014, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar will felicitate her at a celebratory function. He will be the chief guest at the event, organised by music events organistion Hridayesh Arts at the Shanmukhananda Auditorium. Lata Mangeshkar’s younger sister and singer Asha Bhosle will be the special guest of honour on the occasion, where the Who’s Who of Bollywood and the Indian music industry are likely to be present.
