The Garasia Tribe: Live-in relationship and pre-marital pregnancy are still considered as taboo in India and some other countries. Most of the parents do not support the live-in relationship and follow the century old tradition of arrange marriage. But what if we tell you that live-in relationships and pre-marital pregnancy are very common not in a city but in a tribal community. In Garasia tribe, people choose their life partners through this relationship. The male and females of the tribe live together before marriage and decide later that they want to get hitched or not. Furthermore, the women of the tribe are allowed give birth to a child before marriage. If the couple wish to continue the relationship, parents arrange a grand wedding for them.
The Garasia Tribe members don’t need social approval for marriage. Interestingly, if a woman doesn’t like her partner after the birth of children, she can change him without hesitation.
A mass-marriage is being held for two days in which men and women gather to participate in this fair. If a woman likes a man, she is allowed to start living with him.
