After Australia and India, it was London’s public that made an herculean effort to overturn a local bus in Walthamstow. A unicyclist, who was dashed by a double decker bus, was saved by people cautious enough to help in time.
Looking at the video, the bus ran over the cyclist where his leg was allegedly crushed. However, the video doesn’t reveal that who was at fault, but it does show a group of people converge and display a show of strength for all the right reasons. A group of over 100 people surrounded the bus and lifted it to a height so as to rescue the cyclist out, who was crushed by the bus. A couple of similar incidents have happened in past too. At one instance in Perth (Australia), where a group of commuters lifted the entire rake to rescue a person who fell in the gap between the train and platform. Another instance was when a group of people in Pune showed the same concern and overturned an entire bus to save the lives of two students who were trapped below the bus. A group of 50 people had then shown solidarity and saved the lives of two students. (Also read: Must Watch: Commuters tilt train to free trapped man in Australia)
It is heartening to see people uniting in their efforts to show an example of courage, and not some wrongdoings. After Perth, Pune, it is London who has restored our faith in HUMANITY.
