The Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre, London, is looking for volunteers willing to be injected with the 0C43 and 229E strains of the coronavirus as part of research into the development of a vaccine.

The trial will induct 24 persons for the proposed study, who will be injected with two weaker strains of the deadly virus giving them similar respiratory symptoms. Patients will then have to stay in quarantine for two weeks after receiving an inoculation that is being developed by Hvivo, a clinical development services business.

During the study, participants will be monitored continuously, have their diets restricted, and will be given the best medicines. Nurses and doctors involved in the study will be required to wear ventilators and protective clothing while working in the lab.

Through this bizarre experiment, scientists are hoping that it help them come up with a treatment to tackle the coronavirus outbreak that has killed over 4,000 people so far.
