Madhya Pradesh Viral Video: In a shocking incident, which ironically took place on Teachers’ Day, a “drunk” teacher was suspended after a viral video showed him cutting off a girl student’s braid at a government-run primary school in Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. According to officials, the incident took place at a government school in Semalkhedi, about 40 km from Ratlam district headquarters.

Medha, who was allegedly in an inebriated state at the time, can be seen arguing will a local villager who confronted him when he rushed to the school after hearing the child’s cries where he found the teacher chopping the girl’s hair.

Upon being confronted by the villager, Medha claimed his actions were necessary as the children in the school were not studying.

When the villager warned him against chopping the girl’s hair, saying he would shoot a video, the teacher allegedly told him, “You can shoot the video but nobody will be able to do anything to me.”

Meanwhile, Ratlam District Collector Rajesh Batham took cognizance of the incident after a video of the teacher’s vile act went viral on social media.

Batham said the teacher has been suspended and order to this effect has been issued by Tribal Department’s Assistant Commissioner Ranjana Singh, adding that Medha will also face criminal charges for his actions.

“The widely shared video eventually reached the collector, who ordered a probe. Based on the girl’s statement and preliminary investigations, the teacher was suspended,” said an official.
