Along with information dissemination, the internet is also a treasure trove of talent. From discovering splendid photographers on Instagram to writers through blogs and comedians, singers, dancers, beauticians to every another talent you can image on YouTube and Facebook, the internet is a great platform to showcase talents that would otherwise remain hidden. Several “internet stars” have emerged in the past few years. And the latest one to join the list is constable Sanghapal Tayde from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, courtesy his melodious voice. Although he has been singing for some years now and has his own YouTube channel, his voice was noticed after a video of him singing was shared on a Facebook page called Maharashtra Police-Varditala Manus. The video has since garnered over 1.6 million views and is being shared widely on Whatsapp.

Constable Sanghapal Tayde’s singing videos have left the netizens impressed. Be it Hindi songs like Teri Deewani and Moh Moh Ke Dhaage or a number of Marathi songs, constable Tayde sings it all beautifully. Interestingly, Tayde has had no formal training in singing or music. He has been uploading his singing videos on his YouTube channel for a few years now. In the videos, he can be seen wearing his uniform and singing and the videos are not even shot with professional help. Yet, his voice is enough to leave the audience spellbound. Constable Tayde is not the only one who has unexpectedly found fame for his singing. Around December last year, there was a viral video of a watchman singing like Arijit Singh, and news of another watchman in May this year singing in Gujarati. Both videos had gone viral. It is great to note that the internet serves as a platform for people to share their talents and get recognition. Well, to be honest, the internet at times does serve a few ‘not-so-great’ singers, but as long as we get introduced to talents like constable Tayde, we don’t mind!
