Man Calling For The Azaan At Alhambra Palace in Spain Goes Viral (Watch Video)

A man calling for Azaan (Muslim call for ritual prayer) at the Alhambra palace in Spain is going viral. The man, Mouaz Al-Nass who called the Azaan is of Syrian origin. Nass said that he felt the walls of the palace and that they missed ‘hearing the call to Allah’. He was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and learned the prayer call from experts. Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia in Spain built by Muslims. As per information on his Facebook page, Mouaz studied Inshad and Maqamat under experts while studying Tajweed and Fiqh under his father, Dr Samir Al-Nass who is a scholar from Syria. The video shows Mouaz singing the prayer call inside the palace while other tourists look.  

Mouaz posted the video on Facebook with the caption, “Call to prayer inside Alhambra palace” which went viral instantly. The video has been widely shared on Facebook with people complimenting the man’s talents. The clip now has over 1.1 million views and more than 23,000 shares on Facebook. Granada’s rulers changed in 1492 and by 1501, no Muslims officially remained there.

After the video went viral, social media users praised him telling him to continue spreading love and the right form of religion. On the command of Tariq ibn Ziyad, Muslims came to Spain in AD 711. The place he landed with his army was named ‘Jabl al Tariq’ (Rock of Tariq). The location is currently known as Gibraltar.
