We all have heard stories of transformations that have changed the way life was, but have you ever heard of a transformation of a material thing into a multi-million dollar business in a few months time? Here is a story about an American, whose father brought a 120 year-old train car which was in a rotting, cat-infested wreck and he, along with his family's collective effort over the course of five months brought the railcar back to life.
"My dad bought this 120-year-old train car [for $3,000]," French said in a post on X thread that went viral. "It was a rotting, cat-infested wreck. But after investing $149k and five months of work, we redeemed it", French added.
French was aware of the difficulties that awaited him including the odor and dilapidated state of the train car but his hard-work can now be seen in the Airbnb business which maintains a 90% occupancy rate year-round.

"Approximately 20 cats had made it their home, and the smell was almost unbearable," French said on the relocation of cats in the train compartment his father purchased.
Rotten Condition of 120-year-old train car
"The wood was almost completely rotten, and the ground was slick with mud and snow," French said about the condition of the purchase.
How 120-year-old train car was transformed into an Airbnb
"My brothers and I each took on different parts of the work, tediously restoring every single piece of the car," French, who has seven brothers, explained. "We reimagined the space The mail compartment became a bedroom, the cargo area a bathroom, and the passenger space a kitchenette and lounge", French was quoted saying in a report by The Post.
"It's been so much fun to help breathe life back into the town," French said about how he transformed the 120-year-old train car.
"We want it to be affordable for people, we want those that really want to stay there to be able to visit", French added on the affordability of the new Airbnb.
So, here was a story in which French transformed the 120-year old train car into a profitable business earning $325 a night with more than 90% occupancy from the first year itself.
