Markandey Katju wants Bollywood filmmakers to make a movie called Planet of the Cows

Markandey Katju says that the film Planet of the Cows will make more money than Baahubali.

In India cows have more status and respect than common people. Cows are revered, worshiped and respected unlike women, children and elderly people. The animal has got its own army in the form of gau-rakshaks and eating beef is an offence now with a few people having lost their lives in the process. The former Chief Justice of India, Markandey Katju in a Facebook post took a dig at the status of cows in India and made an equally hilarious suggestion that is going viral. Justice Markandey Katju had a novel suggestion for Bollywood producers and directors and claimed that it would be a greater success than Baahubali! He suggested that like Hollywood, Bollywood filmmakers should make a film on cows titled ‘The Planet of the Cows’ similar to the ‘Planet of the Apes’. Markandey Katju also claimed that this movie will garner 10 times more revenue than the Baahubali epics at the box office.

Justice Markandey Katju wrote on his Facebook page, “There is a Hollywood film called ‘ The Planet of the Apes ‘ in which apes conquer and enslave humans. I recommend to Bollywood film producers to make a film called ‘ The Planet of the Cows ‘ in which cows conquer and enslave Indians. I am sure it will gross ten times more profits than ‘ Bahubali ‘ Hari Om. The post that was posted yesterday has gone viral and generated more than 21000 reactions on Facebook and more than 3000 shares. Following his suggestion a Facebook user even designed a poster for the film.

Most people took the jibe in their stride and laughed at Justice Katju’s suggestion but some were not amused with the remark.

Markandey Katju came up with this suggestion after reportedly the Uttar Pradesh government announced to start a cow ambulance service. He wrote on Facebook, “I really think the U. P. Govt. has gone mad. In a state where the human masses hardly get any proper healthcare, it has started an ambulance service for taking ill and injured cows to veterinary doctors for medical treatment.”
