Soon after Barack Obama became president, the family welcomed male pup Bo in 2009. According to the Presidential Pet Museum, the dog was a gift to Barack and Michelle’s daughters, Sasha and Malia, from Senator Ted Kennedy.

Female pooch Sunny, joined the family four years later, in 2013, as per a report in the People Magazine.

Last year on National Dog Day, Michelle had shared another picture of her fur-children, and wrote, ”Whether they’re cuddling up with me on the couch or rolling around in the backyard, I love these two balls of fur. Happy #NationalDogDay to Bo and Sunny!”
