Mumbai-Pune Expressway fresh landslide; traffic diverted (Watch video)

Traffic moving towards Mumbai has been diverted through Lonavala due to the landslide, while the traffic going towards Pune from Mumbai is smooth.

Another landslide occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the third in recent months, on Friday, August 7, 2015. Traffic moving towards Mumbai has been diverted through Lonavala due to the landslide, while the traffic going towards Pune from Mumbai is smooth.

This video shows how huge boulders are on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway because of the landslide. Heavy rains have been lashing Pune and Mumbai and the stretch in between throughout the month of July 2015, and continue into August.

Yet again, the landslide has occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway just before the Adoshi tunnel. There are about four spots on the highway that are prone to landslide. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) now plans to invite tenders to start anti-landslide work on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
