A film based on the lives of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murty is in the works. The project is being developed by the writer-director duo Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari, who are carefully shaping the storyline. The movie will be made in three languages — Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada, which is Narayana Murthy’s native language.
Narayana Murthy is reportedly quite excited about the project and has urged the filmmakers to complete it as soon as possible. While Murthy is widely recognized for his contributions to the IT sector, his wife, Sudha Murty, has explored various fields. In addition to being a writer and philanthropist, she has also appeared in small roles in a few Kannada films like Prarthane, Preethi Illada Mele, and Uppu, Huli, Khara.
Currently, the filmmakers are still gathering information from the Murthy family to build an authentic and inspiring narrative. Although the movie’s official title hasn’t been confirmed, the team is using the working title ‘Murthy’ for now. Since the script is still under development, decisions regarding the cast and crew will be made once the writing is finalized. “We’re still writing that. It’s taking far too long, but I would love to tell their story,” Tiwari said.
The film has faced delays, and recently, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari addressed the reason behind it. In an interview with News18 Showsha, she shared that the script is taking longer than expected but emphasized her commitment to telling the Murthys’ story thoughtfully. “No one knows what’s working. We need to question ourselves as to how willing we are to tell fearless stories that are commercially viable at the same time,” the filmmaker said.

Ashwiny mentioned that she’s currently prioritizing her production projects before directing her next film. She stressed her focus on creating meaningful content that resonates with viewers, rather than just aiming for commercial success. The goal is to showcase the inspiring journey of one of India’s most influential power couples.
Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, however remained tight-lipped about the details of the upcoming biopic on Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty. Since the project is still in its pre-production phase, fans will have to be patient as they await its release.
