NASA Parker Solar Probe: In a major achievement, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe broke its previous record while passing close to the Sun for the 23rd time. The Parker Solar Probe claimed the title of the closest-approaching and fastest human-made object. According to the report, the probe reached an unprecedented speed of 430,000 miles per hour (692,017 km/h) while coming as close as 3.8 million miles from the Sun’s surface. It remains in perfect health and is transmitting crucial data about the Sun’s mysterious and powerful behavior.
Launched in 2018, NASA’s Parker Solar Probe is an unprecedented mission designed to study the Sun up close. The probe is constructed to find out the different aspects of the Sun’s outer atmosphere, or corona, to better understand solar wind, magnetic fields, and space weather that can impact Earth.
Designed to withstand extreme heat and radiation, the probe uses a specially designed heat shield, allowing it to endure temperatures of up to 2,500°F (1,377°C). As it repeatedly dives toward the Sun, its speed makes it the fastest human-made object in history.
This mission has added new dimensions to the study of solar activity, providing scientists with important information about the solar wind and related processes. This probe is proving to be a significant step in understanding our Sun and its behavior, which will help in predicting and adapting to space weather in the future.
