Navratri festival is celebrated all over India but great zeal and enthusiasm. Navratri is a nine day celebration, during which nine forms of goddesses are worshipped. And so, the festival is also known as Durga Puja. This occasion represents celebration of Goddess Amba over evil demon Mahishasura. The actual celebrating Durga Puja is about enlightenment of soul. It is about the Goodness over the evil and wrong things. Durga Puja is about sustaining the devotees to believe that Goddess will help whenever evil tries to overpower the goodness. Devotees fast for those nine days and chant various shlokas and mantras to seek blessings from the Goddess. This festival is celebrated not just in India but all around the globe and holds a lot of importance. According to ancient myth, Lord Shiva granted permission to his wife Goddess Durga for seeing her mother for just nine days. During that time, Goddess Durga demolished evil demon Mahishasura and hence Goddess Durga aka Kali is represented as a symbol of shakti – the ultimate strength.
