Remember the money we forget in our jeans pockets and find it after the laundry, like a gift to ourselves. Well, you can totally forget that scenario happening with new Rs 500 notes. At least that is what Twitter user Ravi Handa wants us to believe. The man shared a picture of a new Rs 500 currency note with its ink faded, which was initially uploaded on Reddit by 4ed8c03dd6726ec4tr. Not much to anyone’s surprise, the picture of faded five hundred Indian currency note has gone viral on Twitter. He has issued a serious warning to the Tweeple telling them ‘The new notes won’t survive a round in the washing machine.’! Needless to say, hi tweet attracted great response with others either taking a potshot at new Rs 500 notes or narrating their own such experience.
Ravi Handa posted a tweet which read: “Check your pockets before giving your clothes for a wash. The new notes won’t survive a round in the washing machine.” The caption was along with a picture of a man holding a faded note of new 500 rupees currency. Ever since the introduction of new redesigned Rs 500 note took place after Narendra Modi’s demonetization drive, it has been in the news for all wrong reasons. While the latest incident shows the defective side of the note with ink fading away in a wash, there have been several cases with fingers pointed at new 500 notes being faulty. Nevertheless, Twitterati had a field day giving random thoughts like – money laundering to clean chit!

In another super baffling event, there were few ATMs in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district which gave Rs 500 notes with one side as blank. “Only the side with Mahatma Gandhi’s image was printed. The other side was blank,” the man who got these defective unique Rs 500 notes said. Yes, however bizarre it may sound, such a thing did happen. There were also reports of at least two variants of the new Rs 500 notes in circulation, another printing error gaffe! So what is the learning from this latest episode of defective Rs 500 notes – never, ever, ever put your clothes in the washing machine without checking the pockets thoroughly?
