Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of National Commission for Women (NCW) said, “An example has been set today but it could have been done earlier. Now people know that they will be punished, you may extend the date but you will get punished”.

Speaking to reporters, Nirbhaya’s mother could not contain her satisfaction when the confirmation of hanging of four convicts in the gang rape and murder case came in a little after 5.35 a.m. on Friday. In her first reaction, she expressed satisfaction that justice was finally delivered.
