The trailer of the film as well as the two songs that have been released – Ghoomar and Ek Dil Ek Jaan – has been mostly well-received by the audience. At the same time, the film has been surrounded by controversies ranging from attacks on Bhansali during the shooting of the film to threats issued by the members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena to the lead cast, especially to Deepika Padukone, if the film is not banned. The 20-second video clip was uploaded on Facebook and has gone viral courtesy the perfect moves of the gorilla that resemble Deepika Padukone’s graceful twirls in the original song. With water splashing around the blue tub as he moves his hands and feet, the gorilla seems to be enjoying his dance in the spoof video. The video was uploaded by the quirky clothes brand, Wear Your Opinion. Within a short time, the video has crossed over 370000 views and over 5000 shares. The gorilla is none other than Zola from the Dallas Zoo, who was in the news earlier this year for her ‘pique’ ballet moves. The video was shared widely on social media, and several variations of Zola’s pool time dance were created and share online.
Padmavati, which is set to release on December 1, 2017, has Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. The film has struck the right chord with the audience when it comes to the music. As soon as Ghoomar released, there were several dance covers, mashups and remixes uploaded by the fans.
