A lot of times when dialogues seems to be delusional in problem-solving, satire comes best to the rescue. India-Pakistan and their intense battle of words have been around for long. The recent surgical strikes concluded by Indian Army across LoC and ban on Pakistani artists performing in India unit state of affairs turn back to normal, has made the situations even tighter. We wonder, what this world be like if comedians would not have been there. Nishant Tanwar, who also goes by the name ‘The Joke Singh’ takes a hilarious dig on the India-Pakistan relations after the unfortunate Uri terror attack.
Nishant sets ‘A No means No’ quote from the movie Pink into correlation with Pakistan. “It is high time that everybody needs to understand, a no means NO!” says the stand-up comedian while closing the act for the audience. What he does before his closing statement, is hilarious and spot on in context. A satire on India’s delayed answer to terrorism and cross-border assault owing to the terrorist infiltration, makes Nishant’s comedy act impeccable.
After the Uri attack, Pakistani actors were asked to condemn the act of terror. While everyone has a right to express their opinion, artists like Fawad Khan, Mahira and Ali Zafar chose not speak. Which is not debatable and agreeable. However, these artist has to face the wrath of nationalism and jingoism, when there arose a demand banning them from performing in India. Police ensured the safety to Pakistani artists in India and asked to return to their country until normalcy return. However, fans and admirers of these Pakistani stars felt disheartened.
