The full song of the team will be released on Sunday night. Reportedly, Peshawar Zalmi will begin their campaign against new-comers Multan Sultans on 22nd February at Dubai. The team has consistently displayed good performance in the league. In the 2016 edition, Peshawar Zalmi finished first in the points table, qualifying for the playoffs. They, however, got eliminated in the second qualifier match against Islamabad United. And in 2017 finals, Zalmis defeated Quetta Gladiators – the runners-up of the inaugural edition of the PSL, by 58 runs. Haier Pakistan owns the Peshawar franchise. It was sold to them by Pakistan Cricket Board in 2015 for USD 16 million for a time period of ten years. This year, 501 players, including both Pakistani and international players, will be playing the tournament. Each franchise was allowed to pick a maximum of seven foreign players in their squads, which could have a maximum of 21 members. Like the previous editions, most of the matches will be played in the UAE. Reportedly,  some matches are planned to take place in Pakistan; they will be played in Lahore and Karachi, subject to security clearance. PSL has been promoted widely in the media using the hashtags #AbKhel6Ka. #DilSeJaanLagaDe has also been used to promote the league, whose official anthem has been sung by Ali Zafar.
