The party season is underway and the spirits are naturally high, pun intended! But along with high spirits, what simultaneously increases is the risk of rash driving and road accidents. Despite numerous advertisements and articles on the negative effects of ‘Drinking and Driving’, there seems to be no reduction in the number of drink-drive accidents every year. And so, in an effort to curb this menace, comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) has come out with a new video, albeit in their characteristic style. The video is a quirky take on the year in rewind – what were the good and bad in 2017 – and subtly slides in the message of #PeekeMatChala (Don’t drink and drive). The video was uploaded yesterday on AIB’s YouTube channel and is already trending on YouTube at number 3 with 9 lakh views. So make sure you watch this video before you head out for the New Year’s Eve party to welcome 2018.

In the 9.06 minute video, AIB has packed in a full-fledged story. It begins with one friend tied to a chair, while the other two are threatening him to handover the car keys because he is fully sloshed. However, this friend tries to run away. At that point, all other friends jump in and stop him from escaping. Then begins the hilarious back and forth between the friends. While one set is convincing that 2017 was an ‘amazing’ year, another set tries to convince that 2017 was a ‘f***all’ year. To convey why 2017 was amazing, AIB has made use of the song ‘Galti se mistake’ from the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Jagga Jasoos. Replacement of CBFC chairperson, winning Miss World after 19 years and multiple wins secured by PV Sindhu and other athletes. On the other hand, the opposing friend uses the tune of the song ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’ from Baadshaho to state why 2017 was a bad year. As suspected, his reasons include GST, Delhi smog and Linkin Park band member Chester Bennington’s suicide. This New AIB Video Called ‘Lightning Fast Movies’ Will Have You ROFL Also Read - Health Tips For 2021: 5 Things to Include in Your Daily Routine to Make This a Healthy New Year

And between the two warring parties comes in a peacemaker, who says maybe it is wrong to call 2017 amazing or f***all. What one needs to focus on is the fact that the new year will bring in a lot of positivity, change and hope for everyone. For all this, one needs to be alive, so don’t drink and drive, he explains through a song! By this time, an OLA has arrived to pick the friend who was sloshed and the video ends on a high with everyone collectively singing ‘Peeke mat chala pyaare, Tu jaan dega re’. The video features several popular comedians apart the AIB members, including Kenny Sebastian, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Naveen Polishetty, Rahul Subramaniam and Kumar Varun. AIB effectively uses the pessimism and optimism that revolves around New Year celebrations and balances it out with humour and a social message. Last year too, AIB had come out with a video before New Year that spoke about the negative impact of drink and drive. The 2017 Song was a viral hit, and was largely about how 2017 is going to be an awesome year. It was picturised on AIB’s founding members, Ashish Shakya, Tanmay Bhat and also featured comedians Abish Mathew and Rahul Subramaniam. Like the previous video, the current video too has garnered a lot of positive reviews from netizens. It is almost like a kaleidoscope of 2017 with a sprinkle of humour.
