A picture of a lady cop, who is also a mother, has taken the internet by storm after the photograph showing her looking after her six-month-old baby while also performing her duty as a policewoman, was posted on Twitter by senior UP police official Rahul Srivastav. For Archana Jayant, a woman police constable in Jhansi, it was just another day at work, but people on social media have commended her and suggested the police department do something for her and other working mothers. Rahul Srivastav, who had posted the picture of Archana working at her desk while her baby girl Anika lay fast asleep in the tiny cubicle, praised her for carrying on her duties as a cop while also tending to her child. The tweet, which, till writing of the story, got 3,289 likes and had been retweeted 855 times, attracted many suggestions from Twitter users, who feel that the police department should provide facilities like a creche to the working mothers to ensure the safety of the child. Director General of Police in Uttar Pradesh, Om Prakash Singh, said that the incident has inspired them to explore creche options at every police line.
