Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore had challenged Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli for a fitness challenge by tagging him on Twitter. Virat was quick to respond and further tagged his wife Anushka, colleague Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted a short video with him appealing to Indians to pursue fitness and tagged Hrithik Roshan, Virat Kohli and Sania Mirza. In his video, he talks about the importance of fitness for Indians, appeals to everyone to share their fitness mantra via videos and concludes by saying that ‘#HumFitTohIndiaFit’. Virat accepted this challenge quickly and shared a video of his favourite core workout in a video on Twitter and asked his fans to ‘Try that out!’

He also further tagged PM Modi, his wife Anushka Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sania Mirza and Hrithik Roshan also who had been challenged by Rajyavardhan Rathore also showed support towards the fitness campaign.

She tweeted saying, “When was the last time we saw a Minister do this??? Coolest leading by example .. congratulations on this #FitnessChallenge Sir.. here’s to a brighter and healthier India..”

Hrithik Roshan tweeted, “This initiative makes me so proud! Bravo. #HumFitTohIndiaFit #FitnessChallenge this is how I commute to my office every day. Sitting static in a car is such a waste. Walk, cycle, jog, feel the earth, feel India get FIT!” tweeted Hrithik.”

Prime Minister Modi had encouraged the fitness movement in India by talking about it in April’s edition of Mann Ki Baat and had released a video of him performing the ‘Trikonasana’ posture.

As per ANI, he had said, “Last month, I had urged people to participate in the Fit India Movement. I am glad with the overwhelming support for the movement. Many people have written to me about fitness, their experiences and what they do. I want to urge everyone to exercise for a healthy lifestyle.”
