In a shocking footage that has gone viral, Police in Chongqing, China found 40 construction workers crammed into a six seater van on April 30, 2017.The vehicle was so overcrowded that it was swaying on the road. Subsequently it was stopped for inquiries and the authorities were shocked to find what the number of men inside the van. China is the world’s most populated country and like India people are accustomed to being crammed into public transports and less space. However, what came to light in this instance was a little too much.
The van was being driven very slowly and was swaying in traffic. The officers stopped the vehicle thinking that there is a security risk. As soon as they looked inside the vehicle they were surprised to see so many workers crammed together. The door of the van was opened with much difficulty as the men were crammed inside. When the Police asked the workers to get off they discovered that 40 men were inside. The seats of the van were completely removed so that so many workers can be accommodated. The video footage shows the men slowly exiting the vehicle with an incredulous and bewildered expression on the Police official’s face. The officers checked the driving license of the vehicle and found that it was licensed to carry only six people and not forty. The driver of the vehicle was fined for overloading. He was fined 200 yuan and six points were deducted from his driving license.
