Apart from being a part of Punjabi cinema, Sonam is quite active in the Tamil cinema as well. Born in a Punjabi Jat Sikh family, the 25-year-old actress participated in the Femina Miss India contest in 2012. Sonam was also subsequently shortlisted to act opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Happy New Year, but was not chosen for the role. Before becoming a successful actress, the diva did modelling and also was an air hostess.
