Ram Gopal Varma was once a critically acclaimed director before he lost all his credibility with nonsensical films. He was also once respected as a thinking director before he started spewing garbage on Twitter. Now he comes across as misogynistic, sexist and racist. When every celebrity Indian or International was expressing dismay over the election of President Donald Trump, Ram Gopal Varma was the one celebrating his win and his reason was because the First Lady Melania Trump is hot.
Ram Gopal Varma or RGV as he is generally called loves to play the enfant terrible on Twitter as always made headlines in the worst way possible. He recently tweeted against Tiger Shroff and described him as ‘gay’. He also asked him not to pose like his one-time leading lady and muse, Urmila Matondkar. Today on the occasion of International Women’s Day when the entire world is congratulating and sending heartfelt wishes to women and the impact that they have on society and a family, RGV went a step ahead and once again miffed everyone around. His Twitter rant started and the misogynist that he is his tweets increasingly became more sexist. He started off with questioning the very reason of celebrating Women’s Day. RGV tweeted, “Is there no #MensDay because all days in the year belong to only men and the women were given just only one day?” This was just the start, he followed it up with, “Women’s day should be called #MensDay because men celebrate women much more than women celebrate women” and then followed it up with unnecessary advice, “Women on atleast #MensDay should not nag or scream and atleast give some freedom to men”. However, the icing on the cake was when he wrote about Sunny Leone. International Women’s Day 2017 special: Pink, Queen – Top 7 women-oriented Bollywood movies that are a must watch
