Sports apparel company Reebok on Saturday took a dig at American President Donald Trump for his “such good shape” comment on France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron. Reebok’s social media page which generally tweets images of athletic people also promotes equality between men and women. Trump who has been criticised multiple times in the past for his comments on women came under fire for his sexist remark towards Brigitte Macron. Trump garnered a lot of negative reaction when he told Brigitte Macron, “You’re in such good shape, beautiful” before turning to her husband French President Emmanuel Macron and saying, “She’s in such good physical shape. Beautiful.” And Reebok took the opportunity to mock Trump describing situations where it is appropriate to tell someone that they are in a good shape. “In case you were wondering when it IS appropriate to say, ‘You’re in such good shape…beautiful,’… THIS:” read a caption tweeted along with an image. Defining situation when you should not use the statement, the picture points out, “Are you a world leader greeting the spouse of a head of state?”, “Are you in an elevator with a woman?”, “Are you at the gym working out next to a woman?” After a few such explanations, it describes a situation when the comment can be used. The video shared on Emmanuel Macron’s Facebook page last week went viral with Trump attracting a lot of criticisms. Reebok’s tweet was quick to grab Twitterati’s attention and has received over 44,000 retweets and more than 76,000 likes. While some praised Reebok’s wit others were of the opinion that the company sexualises women in their advertisements. Trump derogatory comments on women have garnered a lot of negative criticims in the past. His comments on grabbing a women’s genitals were made public recently. There were also reports that he walked announced into women’s dressing room in the Miss Universe pageants he owned.
