Bollywood’s iconic actor Vinod Khanna breathed his last on Thursday, April 27, at the HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai around 11:20 am. The versatile actor was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma. Popular as one of the most handsome male celebrities of the Indian film industry, Vinod Khanna was born in Peshawar and was an MP from Gurdaspur, Punjab. The actor made an impact with films like Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Purab Aur PaschimAchanakQurbani and Amar Akbar Anthony. Vinod Khanna left Bollywood at the peak of his career in 1982 and became a disciple of Osho Rajneesh. But after five years, the actor returned to the Hindi film industry and gave hit films like Insaaf, Jurm, Humshakal and Satyamev Jayate. After that, he turned to politics and was elected from Gurdaspur for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Vinod Khanna’s charisma and personality made women go weak in the knees. The entire fraternity is mourning the loss of the great star and came together to pay their last respects to the late actor. The funeral was held yesterday in Worli, Mumbai. A few days back, a picture of the 70-year-old star looking frail was all over social media and fans were shocked to see his condition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Textile Minister Smriti Irani, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, actors Dharmendra, Salman Khan, Arjun Rampal, Akshay Kumar, Shraddha Kapoor, director Subhash Ghai and Karan Johar, cricketer Mohammad Kaif and many others, expressed their condolences in the form of tweets. Not just Bollywood, but even TV celebs including Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, Karan Patel, Arjun Bijlani and others condoled the death of the actor.

Tubelight actor Salman Khan took to Twitter and remembered acting with Vinod Khanna in Dabangg. Salman Khan took to Twitter to write, “R.I.P Vinod Khanna Sir. You will really be missed.” He also shared a beautiful picture with him on Twitter. His co-star Sonakshi Sinha too earlier took to the micro-blogging site to convey her respects to the veteran star. She wrote, “A huge loss to the film industry. One of the nicest and most charming gentlemen I’ve had the pleasure of working with. #VinodKhanna sir, RIP.” Vinod Khanna, the legend will surely be missed!
