Madhavan had earlier shared a video post on his Instagram page showing him getting a makeover, and he described the whole procedure as, “When getting in the character take 2 years and getting the look in place take 14 hrs on the chair.”
Talking about the co-director Ananth Mahadevan leaving the film, Madhavan said to The Indian Express, “Ananth Mahadevan is an extremely talented filmmaker. However, owing to unavoidable circumstances and certain pressing commitments, he could no longer direct Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film is close to my heart for many reasons. The film is shaping up well and I can’t wait to tell the incredible story of Mr Nambi Narayanan to the world”.
However, the film is a debut for R Madhav as a director and it will be interesting to see how the film will turn out to be. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will hit the theatres this year and it will be a trilingual project releasing in Hindi, English and Tamil.
About scientist Nambi Narayanan, as a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), he was in charge of the cryogenics division. He was falsely charged with leaking vital defence secrets to two alleged Maldivian intelligence officers in 1994 and arrested for espionage. But the charges against him were dismissed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 1996, and he was declared not guilty by the Supreme Court of India in 1998.
