After an embarrassing ODI defeat against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala on December 10, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has made a resounding comeback, shattering and making new records at the same time. In the second ODI being played in Punjab, Rohit Sharma has silenced his critics with an unbeaten 208 off just 153 balls. His innings comprised 13 fours and 12 sixes. This marks Sharma’s third double century in ODIs. No other player in the world has more than one ODI double hundred. The Indian team’s total score stood at 392/4. With this 200, Rohit Sharma extends his list of ODI double centuries to three. 

Sharma, who made his debut in the Indian team in 2007 against Ireland, is also the captain of the IPL team Mumbai Indians. He is captaining the Indian team in the absence of Virat Kohli, who has currently taken a short break for his marriage with actress Anushka Sharma. The current Indian captain holds the highest individual score of 264 runs in one-day internationals. He got to his double hundred in last over of the innings. His first two hundred came against Australia in 2013 in Bengaluru and then in 2014, the skilled batsman scored 264 against Sri Lanka in Kolkata.
