Football star Lionel Messi’s recent visit to India attracted a lot of attention, not just for cultural and charity reasons, but also because of a striking luxury moment that became widely discussed. During his visit to Vantara, a wildlife rescue and conservation centre started by Anant Ambani, Messi was seen wearing an extremely rare and expensive watch. People noticed that he arrived at the centre without any watch. Later during the visit, he was spotted wearing a special Richard Mille watch.

The watch was a Richard Mille RM 003-V2 GMT Tourbillon Asia Edition, one of only 12 pieces made in the world. It has a black carbon case and an open-style dial. The watch is priced at around USD 1.2 million, which is roughly Rs 10.91 crore. Reports say the watch was gifted to Messi by Anant Ambani.

 At the same time, Anant Ambani himself was seen wearing another extremely rare timepiece – the Richard Mille RM 056 Sapphire Tourbillon. This watch is a one-of-a-kind creation and is valued at about USD 5 million, or nearly Rs 45.59 crore.
