Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3 Trailer is out. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, Sarkar 3 will see Amitabh Bachchan reprise his role of Subhash Nagre a character based on Mario Puzo’s Don Vito Corleone from the famous and cult book Godfather. Sarkar was inspired and based on Godfather which later achieved a cult status and became one of the biggest hits of Abhishek Bachchan’s career. It is also believed that the role of Sarkar is loosely based on Balasaheb Thackeray. Sarkar 3 is the third movie in the Sarkar film series. While Sarkar and the second part Sarkar Raj had Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles, Sarkar 3 does not feature his character actively; he is seen only in a photo and is mentioned in conversations.
Sarkar 3 stars a stellar ensemble cast – Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Ronit Roy, Amit Sadh, Supriya Pathak Kapoor, Rohini Hattangadi and Yami Gautam. Ram Gopal Varma is once again at the helm of affairs and has been enjoying the centre stage for some time now. The star cast released the much awaited trailer today and we must say the trailer will be liked by many. However, it has a hangover of all the previous Sarkar movies and the background score is the same. The camerawork is similar to all the movies of Ram Gopal Varma and there is no novelty. Although all the main actors have done a fantastic job and they all look impressive in whatever screen time they are getting in the trailer. Amitabh Bachchan is out to avenge the loss of his son Shankar that was played by Abhishek Bachchan in the second part of the series in this movie.
Amit Sadh in his first outing with such stellar star cast has acted really well and his rebellious, brattish character is interesting. Yami Gautam, fresh from her Kaabil success has grown as an actress and holds her own against the stalwarts. Hrithik Roshan also commented on her acting and tweeted, “Looking fantastic! @yamigautam can’t wait to see the other side of Su.

The only question is whether this film of Ram Gopal Varma will pique audience’s interest and will get them to the theaters or will it bite the dust like so many of his ventures?
