It’s the festive season of Diwali, and many companies are rewarding their employees with special bonuses and gifts. Recently, a company in Panchkula in Haryana, gifted cars to some of its best-performing employees. The pharma company gave 15 cars to top performers as a Diwali bonus. And when it comes to giving employees houses and cars, it’s hard not to mention Savji Dholakia, the famous diamond businessman known for his generosity.
Savji Dholakia, the Chairman of Hari Krishna Exports, is well known for giving expensive gifts to his employees during Diwali. Over the past 30 years, he has gifted cars, houses, and precious jewellery to thousands of workers. Dholakia believes in treating his employees like family. Every year, he even sends their parents on vacations as a gesture of appreciation. So far, more than 4,000 employees have received cars, homes, or jewellery from him.
Savji Dholakia started his business in 1991 with Hari Krishna Exports and has always believed in giving back. He once said, “Learn to spend, and money will come to you automatically.”
Just four years after launching his business, in 1995, he gifted three cars to his employees. In 2015, he made headlines when he gifted 1,200 employees jewellery, 200 flats, and 491 cars for Diwali. A year earlier, in 2014, he also distributed Rs. 50 crore as incentives to his staff.
Savji Dholakia’s tradition of giving gifts to his employees continues every year. In 2018, he gifted cars and fixed deposits (FDs) to his staff. On one special occasion, he even gave Mercedes-Benz cars to three employees who had completed 25 years in his company.
This year too, everyone, not just his employees but people across the country, are eagerly waiting to see what surprise gifts Dholakia will give for Diwali. Social media users are already sharing guesses and excitement about his next big announcement.
Savji Dholakia’s journey is truly inspiring. He left school at the age of 13 and started working in his uncle’s diamond business. After learning the trade, he took a loan and began his own diamond polishing business.
After about 10 years of hard work, he founded Hari Krishna Exports in 1991 and since then, he has never looked back.
Today, according to media reports, his company’s business is worth over Rs. 6,000 crore. Dholakia, a Padma Shri awardee, has turned his company into one of India’s leading diamond exporters, sending diamond jewellery to more than 50 countries around the world.
