But there is a most dangerous military post in India and soldiers have to face die-hard conditions to guard it.

India’s most dangerous military post

The Siachen Base Post located on the Siachen Glacier is considered to be the most dangerous military post in India. It is located at an altitude of 21000 feet above sea level, which makes it the most dangerous and the highest military post in the world. The soldiers present here have to face adverse conditions. Being located at such a height, the soldiers also have to face lack of oxygen. The temperature here falls to minus 50 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, they have to face heavy snowfall all the time. Siachen Base Camp, 12,000 feet above sea level at Partapur, is a base camp of 102 Infantry Brigade (Siachen brigade) of XIV Corps of Indian Army which protects 110 km long Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL) with at least 108 forward military outposts and artillery observation posts in the disputed region of Siachen Glacier in Ladakh Union Territory of India.

What kind of situations do the soldiers have to face

Due to such a high altitude, the weather here remains extremely cold. Due to lack of oxygen, soldiers have to face breathing difficulties. There are frequent snowstorms in Siachen, which prove to be dangerous for the soldiers. The soldiers have to be very alert to deal with security related threats here. Apart from this, the Gorkha Regiment is also considered to be the most dangerous regiment of India.
