However, the song became much more prominent when Red FM’s RJ Malishka parody version of the song that captured the gist of Mumbai’s Pothole problem. Inspired by this viral Sonu Song, people in Goa have come up with their own version of the parody called Mannu Song! Mannu Aamka Tuzyawar Bharosa Nai Hai is a parody that takes a direct jibe at the Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. The Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) came up with this innovative version of the Sonu Song, and the lyrics of the Mannu Song criticises the decisions and policies of Goa CM. “Mannu we do not trust you, Mannu is your humanity no more, You are a protector of casinos, You are a destroyer of Goa,” the lyrics of the viral Mannu Song translate. The organisation workers are seen chanting these lyrics in a viral video which has been shared on social media multiple times. According to an IANS report, the song was made to protest against the casino-housing vessel, promoted by Haryana politician Gopal Kanda. “We had thought that he would move casinos from the Mandovi. Goa’s educated society does not want casinos at all. He does not bother or love Goan culture. This song should remind people about all failed promises and political treachery by Parrikar,” a spokesperson for GSM was quoted. The Goa Suraksha Manch is backed by state Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Subhash Velingkar is voicing their strong opinion against the Manohar Parrikar government and the decisions and policies that are being rolled out.
