Mumbai, July 18: A chilling video of a suicide on railway track in Mumbai has surfaced. A man jumped onto the tracks of a local train and was instantly killed. The incident took place at Bhyandar station on July 10. The video of the suicide which was caught on CCTV camera, is going viral on social media.

Commuters at the Bhayandar station left stunned when an unknown man jumped in front of a Churchgate bound train. The man, dressed in a pink shirt and jeans, was patiently waiting for the train at platform no 6. As the train arrived from Naigaon, he jumped onto the tracks and was killed instantly. The body, which was torn apart in two pieces, was retrieved from under the train wheels. The identity of the man has not been revealed yet as he wasn’t carrying any ID proof. Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered a cell-phone from his pocket and is now trying to track down his family by accessing his call data record (CDR). “We have put the number for tracking and are trying everything possible to trace his identity. We have recovered only a mobile phone and some basic cash from his body,” Mahesh Bagwe, Senior Inspector, Vasai GRP told Mumbai Mirror. Railway tracks in Mumbai have become deadly as suicides and accidents often take place tracks. According to data, 228 deaths took place along the Western Railway network between January and June this year. Of this, 40 were suicides.
