Tamil film industry heartthrob Suriya turns 40 today! Suriya was born as Sarvanana Sivakumar on July 23, 1975. When he made his debut in in director Vasanth’s Nerukku Ner Saravanan was given his his stage name by director Mani Ratnam. He made his mark in the industry with the movie Nandha in 2001. This was followed by several critical and commercial successes such as Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini, Vel, Vaaranam Aayiram and Singam. He has worked immensely not only on his performances but also on his looks and style. His looks and styles for all his movie are peculiar, you might even call him the Aamir Khan of the Tamil industry!
He also made his debut on television with the popular STAR Vijay gaming show Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Apart from movies Suriya is known to have begun Agaram Foundation for various philanthropic activities.
